oh gawd why!

This is… a representation of what Super Mario would look like in real life…

Kill it!!

Kill it with fire!!

From Nintendo Wii FanBoy

My co-worker, good friend and self proclaimed geek sent me this link (forwarded from her equally geeky husband) from Instructables.com. On the site they also have instructions on recreating the famed Blackforest cake from Portal as seen here:

I’ve heard rumor that someone made a cake of the beloved Weighted Companion Cube.

I’d also like to add that today is the last day to get Valve’s Orange Box for PC from Best Buy for only $30.

Even if you have Half-Life 2 and Episode 1, its worth it for the 3 other games. I picked up mine yesterday.

Strong Bad from homestarrunner.com offers some friendly advice about the safe use of the WiiMote!

Funny even if you don’t have a Wii.

Zero Punctuation is a game review series by Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw who reviews games with a good bit of British humor thrown in. Even if you don’t intend to play the games, the reviews are hilarious!

Check out his review of Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii!

Greetings and salutations geeks & nerds alike! Neil Egan here – now co-contributor (or co-conspirator?) to the spectacular GeekyThingz blog. Can I get a “WooT!”

Creator of GeekyThingz, and one of my best buds, Dwayne aka Dopegroove, has been kind enough to welcome me to this small but growing corner of the geek universe.  So from now, we’ll both be adding our particular insightful commentary on thingz like cool gadgets, gaming, anime, that crazy tech world and generally anything geek related.

So to start off this exciting day, how about some morbid news (yeah?). Hal 9000’s evil red eye will be glowing a little less bright today with the news that Arthur C. Clarke has passed away. The author of one of the most frightening prophecies of technology gone amok, 2001: a Space Odyssey, died in his home at the age of 90.

I also found out that on March 4th, there was sad news for all the roleplaying fans out there. Gary Gygax, the father of Dungeons & Dragons died at age 69. Two big influential figures in the geek world pass on to meet that big Dungeon Master in the sky. So, in their tribute, I offer the classic Flash video based on the recording of the Dead Ale Wives interpretation of a typical Friday night for D&D players. Here’s CyberMoon Studios’ 8-bit rendition:

Mr Clarke and Mr. Gygax, I raise my Mountain Dew to you as I cast magic missle into the darkness…one last time.

Ever wonder what happened to all your favorite Street Fighter characters?

Well check out Street Fighter: The Later Years on Collegehumor.com to see what happened. Really funny series!

You know, Nintendo puts a warning at the start Wii Sports warning you about putting on your strap.

Simple right? Yet people still forget for some reason….
